SCS Stampi has been cooperating for more than forty years with the most important automotive companies all over the world in the designing and realization of die-casting dies for metal alloys such as aluminium, zamak, magnesium and brass. Since 1981 the company has developed more than 1100 tools for Automotive sector specializing in the following application fields: Powertrain, Structural Parts and Truck.
In February 2022 SCS acquires the first order for BEV (Battery Electric Vehicle) market, i.e. vehicles exclusively with electric propulsion – specifically our client required the supply of a tool for an aluminium Battery Housing for electric cars.
Battery case for electric vehicles is designed to contain and protect the battery module, one of the most expensive and important elements of an electric car but also, most probably, the most delicate. Car manufacturers use such cases, also called Battery Housing, to improve impact resistance, ensure more lightness and increase the thermal conduction necessary for the temperature management system of the battery. These pieces can be of various sizes and materials but it seems that the most suitable material for the next years is aluminium.
